Slim Ricks

Slim Ricks is a hands-on learning experience that goes beyond grilling; educating visitors on the journey from field to fork. Based at Scott’s of Southend garden centre in Essex, the grill school aims to inspire curiosity around topics such as sustainable agriculture, pollinators, and biodiversity, as well as teaching the art of live fire cooking – from mastering the art of the perfect sear to understanding flavour combinations. Ricky Lockyer (AKA Slim Rick) and Scott Bird, owner of Scott’s are also partnering with men’s mental health charity, Andy’s Man Club to support men’s mental health and wellbeing through food, fire and community.
