Top 10 Tips to BBQ on the move
1. Get organised, think ahead of the ingredients, the bbq, the accessories etc. and make a list to make sure it all goes with you
2. Keep things simple, you can still create simple gourmet bbq food on the move, just don’t overcomplicate
3. Have distinct sets of tools etc for raw and cooked food, it’s easy to get mixed up and cross contaminate when away from home. Also have cleaning wipes, and I like to have a few handy latex gloves (black of course) for handling raw meat
4. You only really need a few simple accessories, a couple of knives, a couple of tongs, some natural firelighters
5. There are plenty of great portable bbq’s available now, there’s no excuse to settle for a nasty disposable bbq..
6. Give yourself a prep space, a portable coolbox makes a great table and keeps your meat cool.
7. BBQ’s are great, but also think about cooking pizza etc. in a portable wood fired oven such fun and something a bit different
8. Respect others, keep things tidy and respect nature and the countryside
9. It’s a beautiful thing to spend time in nature with your family and friends with some tasty food, enjoy
10. Once all the cooking is done, you need to think how you will dispose of any hot ashes, a small metal bucket with a lid will help you to snuff out the coals and transport
